About this site, and a little about me...

blos•som (vb.)
1. to come or open into flower
2. to develop in a pleasing or promising way
3. to stop being shy and reserved

I live in Brisbane with my man, his 2 littluns, where I'm Pancake-Queen on Sunday mornings.

I started making jewellery at about 13 years of age, making and selling beaded and woven friendship bracelets to a bevy of eager customers at high school. Years later I picked up pliers, teaching myself from my lounge room floor and jewellery once again became an obsession. In time (actually, in the shower) "CarrieBlossom" started to form. All the jewellery you see here has been hand made by me.

What you see now is this business evolving to incorporate my other passionate interest - healing. I've always known I want to learn how to, and help others to overcome obstacles and realise their potential. As part of my journey, I experienced Reiki and massage and am now trained to offer Reiki and relaxation massage treatments, and facilitate Reiki courses for those wanting to learn the Japanese healing art.

In my spare time (who needs to watch TV, right?) I rock the mic teaching BodyPump and BodyBalance group fitness classes in a northern suburb of Brisbane. I love to visit my favourite cafes in Byron Bay every coupla months and I've always got my head in some kind of self-help book from those who have gone before me on this path, currently Pema Chodron's Start Where You Are.

I'm also recognising the value in investing in myself - through counselling, workshops, receiving massage and Reiki, reading books that inform and nourish my soul, and having courage to speaking the truest voice of my heart.

Essentially I want to encourage you to give yourself a break, get out of your way and open yourself to the loving, compassionate, worthwhile being you are.

In 2011, my vision for CarrieBlossom is re-focusing. New jewellery range. Investing in my skills as a practitioner. 2011 is going to be a magical year.

I look forward to joining you.

Carrie xx

Caring for your jewellery

While all care is taken to ensure the quality of your CarrieBlossom piece, some items are particularly delicate, and we suggest taking special care of your jewellery so it will continue to look as new for years to come.

We suggest you avoid spraying perfume, deodorants or hairsprays on or near your jewellery. To clean, gently wipe with a damp cloth and dry with a soft, clean cloth (a lens cleaner is perfect).

100% sterling silver jewellery (e.g. sterling silver studs etc.) can be cleaned with silver polish or a silver cloth, or washed gently in warm, soapy water then rinsed and dried with a soft, clean cloth.

Pearl lariats - please expect your leather to darken over time with wear. To clean, simply wipe with a soft, clean, dry cloth.

Storing your jewellery

Ideally, store your jewellery in a soft-lined box or pouch. Try to keep pieces separate so they don't rub together or tangle.

Coming soon - some funky jewellery boxes to store your precious jewels !

Re-strings and mending jewellery

We are happy to assist with re-arranging, re-stringing or mending jewellery similar to the pieces made here at CarrieBlossom. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Materials

Materials are sourced from around the world. Unless otherwise mentioned, all findings are base metal, with the exception of ear hooks and studs. All ear hooks and studs are either sterling silver, nickel free gold vermeil, or gold filled. 14ct gold ear wires are available on request, starting at $13 per pair of ear wires. Please contact us for any special requests.
